Behind Amy's Stickers: episode 1

If you’ve sat across from me in the clinic, you have likely seen this sticker staring back at you from my laptop. Why? Because I probably get questions about nutrition as often as I get questions about physical rehab. I consider this a great thing. After all, healing bodies need good sources of energy to work their best. However, I’ve also seen time and again that when we lose the ability to control our activity level, we tend to try and control other things in our lives to maintain some structure. It feels good to be proactive about something “healthy”. Am I right?

Enter Coexist.

A movement that reminds us why we eat food in the first place! Not to control it, to enjoy it :)

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: I’m not a nutritionist, nor a registered dietician, nor an expert on disordered eating. That being the case, this idea (and the sticker that goes with it) is the advice I tend to give my patients.

So, today I thought I’d share some of my favorite food things. I’d love to hear about your own favorites in the comments section!
